ISO Specifications for Environmental Test Chambers

ISO is an independent, non-governmental membership organization and the world's largest developer of voluntary International Standards. ISO consists of 163 member countries. ISO is best known for its ISO 9000 Quality management standards. Examples of standards that apply to climatic conditions for which environmental test chambers are used include:

ISO 16428

Implants for surgery - test solutions and environmental conditions for static and dynamic corrosion tests on implantable materials and medical devices.

ISO 9227

Specifies a test method for assessing the corrosion resistance of materials through exposure to a salt spray (fog) environment.

ISO 10993

Standard that provides guidelines for the biological evaluation of medical devices. It encompasses various aspects of biocompatibility testing, including testing for cytotoxicity, sensitization, and irritation.
