The AES Solution

The company integrated AES’s SC-512-4-SAFE environmental test chamber with the ATPHEAVY ADAPTABLE battery testing fixture, configured for 16 channels at 100 amps each. This combination delivers high-density testing, precise cycling, and advanced safety in a compact, adaptable setup.

  • High-Channel Density and Current Capacity: ATPHEAVY ADAPTABLE fixture supports 16 channels at 100 amps per channel, enabling parallel cycling of multiple high-capacity EV pouch cells. The kelvin clips with gold contacts ensures secure connection from pouch cell to fixture.

  • Advanced Safety and Containment:The SC-512-4-SAFE chamber creates a secure, controlled environment for cycling cells under extreme conditions. Its design includes advanced temperature limited sheath heaters, airflow management, and containment features that meet EUCAR Level 7 safety standards, providing prevention and mitigation features in the event of thermal runaway.

  • Precision Environmental Control: Engineered for stable temperature management, the SC-512-4-SAFE offers accurate simulation of real-world conditions. This ensures consistent, reliable data during high-discharge cycling and thermal stress testing.

Scalable Testing for Growing Demands

Though the SC-512-4-SAFE is a benchtop chamber, it’s specifically designed for stackable configurations. This energy storage innovator doubled their testing capacity by stacking two chambers, each equipped with a different ATPHEAVY ADAPTABLE fixture. One setup featured 16 channels at 100 amps, while the other was configured for 8 channels at 250 amps, allowing them to run parallel protocols on different pouch cell designs within the same footprint. 

This flexible approach demonstrates how AES’s scalable solutions can accommodate evolving test demands, from prototype development to full-scale validation programs.
